He oversaw the original delivery of the Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) award into the UK in 2006 and led the introduction of NIDMAR education, certification, and audit process in the UK. He continues to lead the training in this area in the UK to date training over 700 students.
Since forming Well Working Matters Ltd in 2013, Graham has been working with and influencing both individuals and organisations in return to work and the development of absence management processes and procedures. A key part of this is the training of line managers and HR staff in safe and sustainable return-to-work techniques.
He continues to grow his work in Disability Management now with 26 years’ experience. In 2014 he led a large NHS organisation through the NIDMAR CBDMA audit process helping them to become the first organisation accredited to the IDMSC standards in the UK.
He has worked with and influenced the Scottish Government in their approach to the development of Disability Management and is currently delivering a 5-year plan to train 300 health and employability professionals to gain the CDMP designation.
His work has included the introduction of a Disability Management approach to large insurers in the UK and rehabilitation companies seeking Government contracts. They engage on an annual basis, changing the way Government agencies and the financial services sector view the return to work of sick and injured workers.
Most recently he has worked with the States of Jersey Government to introduce a Disability management approach to how they change the management of both short- and long-term absence claims and establishing an early intervention return to work team sponsored by the Government.
